AIN Ventures is a Venture Capital fund managed by two Service Academy Graduates Emily McMahan, MBA and Sherman Williams II, MBA. Sherman is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and Emily is a graduate of the United States Military Academy West Point. Their goal in founding AIN Ventures is to fund dual-use technology in the health technology, space technology, and environmental sustainability industries while supporting veteran founders.
The firm is currently raising their first fund, and has been deploying capital since January of 2022. As of November of 2022, AIN has invested in 15 companies spanning each of the industries listed above, with an average check size of about $750k.
I began my time with AIN Ventures about a year ago as a contractor, but have been an official team member since March of 2022 as a Venture Capital Fellow. Below are some of the highlights of my time with AIN thus far:
